The ideal holiday - no cooking or cleaning etc for a week! Fully inclusive is superb for young kids as there are no worries about the amount of money you're spending on drinks and ice-creams for them - it certainly takes a lot of the pressure off.

We were looking for a sunny holiday as far away from the UK as our budget could take us with the option of local beaches and a few things to see. Having "surfed the net" we came up with Alghero in Sardinia. Though neither of us had been to Sardinia we can honestly say the destination met our expectations and offered good value for money. With ample parking and a shuttle bus to take us to the airport terminal at Stansted, we left a rainy wet UK at 7am and were relaxing on a hot sunny beach by 11am.

Only 50 metres off the beach, you could stroll along the beachfront for about a mile with hills behind you and the surf of the med in front ... beautiful at sunset and a midnight stroll.

Buckingham Palace, London, United Kingdom
Going to London soon? Want to enjoy a touch of class? Last week I visited the State Rooms of Buckingham Palace, the very best known stately home in all of England. Home to the Queen and Prince Philip, plus dozens of live-in staff (how would you like an address “Flat 6, Buckingham Palace”?) it is a major tourist attraction and a required stop on the route of every London tour bus. Of course this home isn’t like yours or mine. Or is it?

The lovely thing about motorhomes is that you pull up at your destination and put the kettle on... You've got your home with you, and you can go as you please. We chose a Romahome, which is a bit cramped for a family, but we gained the mobility to nip into city centres and park on the street.

The Holguin area on Cuba’s north coast is the place to unwind on idyllic white beaches and soak up some local culture. Take time to wader round Holguin, one of Cuba’s prettiest areas or dance to the island’s famous Salsa in Santiago de Cuba, where colonial architecture mixes with vibrant bars. Above all, this is the place for beach lovers sipping cocktails.

Take a walk around the moat and walls. Inside the walls you'll find narrow interesting alleys with shops, cafes and bars. We found a few places where we could enjoy a reasonably priced drink together. The history of Rhodes town is well documented in the guide books and you can enjoy guided walks starting at the courtyard of the Palace of the grand Masters.

After Antigua and its many uncrowded beaches, one can never feel the same about holidaying in the overcrowded Costas again. There were so many things that made the holiday enjoyable - the friendly service you get in the USA is second to none, Belagio's fountain and the helicopter ride over Vegas at night and the thrill of playing on mega million dollar jackpot machines! Although I didn't win a mega jackpot I did manage to win a couple of smaller jackpots on a video poker machine with a Royal Flush and also a Keno(Bingo) machine. Las Vegas has it all, it's a great starting point for a west coast adventure.

One of the best things about the resorts of Levi and Yllas in Lapland is the snow sure winter ski season, from December to March you can enjoy a holiday in the winter wonderland of Lapland. Many successful European resorts can also be terribly busy and the slopes almost hazardous as skiers and snowboarders seem to cross in every possible direction. Lapland, however, feels like a breath of fresh air as the slopes are uncrowded and queuing for the lifts, which seems to have become part of the skiing culture in Europe, is not even an issue.

Madrid itself has plenty to keep you occupied for more than a week itself and I look upon this holiday as an opportunity to get a feel of the area in order to return at a later stage and spend more time at your places of interest. With this in mind I would highly recommend the first day walk about in Madrid as you get to find out where all the main sights are to be found, including restaurants, gardens and museums.

We were very pleasantly surprised by a recent trip to the Lake District.

Just a few minutes west from Gare du Nord “a pieds” you’ll find the arty quarter of Paris. Sacre-Coeur and Montmartre are so attractive and are situated on a hill giving an overview of the city as well as providing a bit of avant-garde atmosphere. We did them first and eventually took a rest at a well-worn little café a stone’s throw from the famous Place du Tertre, (a fascinating kind of artists’ market square) and had lunch.
