Accommodation
Hotel Raga.
This four star hotel was ideally located for fantastic restuarants and
many stylish shops. The rooms were spacious and had a great uninterupted
sea view.Breakfast included everything from a full english to fruit
and cereals, unfortunately no fresh milk! Situated beside a fantastic
cake shop and not far from the Lido. Espada was on every menu and although
fish and banana sounds horrid it was absolutely delicious. |

If you love visiting beautiful gardens
then this island is a must. No matter what time of year you visit there's
so much beautiful vegetation on this island. Monte gardens are so peaceful
and beautiful, but you must get there early as mist can decend after
lunch. And this isn't the only beautiful garden on this island. Take
an island tour and see it all. Eating is unusual as they mix a black
scabbard fish with banana and its a delight. Madiera
wine which is available to sample everywhere, is a must and I'm sure
everyone will bring back a few bottles. Go for a walk after dark and
you get the aroma of Datura which fills the air. And
you are able to leave windows open at night as the noise ends by midnight
and Mosquitos don't seem to be a bother. I was surprised though by the
lack of birds. Overall its a beautiful island. |
