Travelogue Circus Circus is a family-orientated hotel, the hotel room was spacious and very clean, the room had two large double beds and gave a comfortable night's sleep. The bathroom was also spacious with a power shower. The service was excellent in every department, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food ranged from McDonalds through to a top quality steak house. Like most hotel/casinos in Las Vegas, Circus Circus has an all you can eat buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner at very affordable prices, just watch the weight! As the name suggests, Circus Circus is based on a circus theme with circus acts taking place in the middle of the casino for free. On the upper level of the casino there are games to play and win small prizes that will entertain the kids as well as the adults. The hotel also has an indoor theme park complete with rollercoaster and other rides. The casino's location whilst not central is still in a good position on the main Las Vegas strip. There's a bus stop just outside the casino that runs along the main strip but of more interest is the tram like bus which will drop you off at the main entrance of different casinos. If gambling's not your scene Vegas still has plenty to offer including shows, theme parks, sights and shopping! One such sight is located on Fremont Street - along with the all the casinos there is an overhead laser and sound show and it's all free! If you feel like leaving town for a few days then hire a car from Hertz or similar car rental place and explore the surrounding area. A few sights to take in are the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam (above), Red Rock Canyon, Death Valley. For something a little different visit a small town called Rachel, the Alien cafe and research cabin is located there with all sorts of info and pictures on the so called secret Area 51. If you've got time then why not spend two or three days in California.

There were so many things that made the holiday enjoyable - the friendly service you get in the USA is second to none, Belagio's fountain and the helicopter ride over Vegas at night and the thrill of playing on mega million dollar jackpot machines! Although I didn't win a mega jackpot I did manage to win a couple of smaller jackpots on a video poker machine with a Royal Flush and also a Keno(Bingo) machine. Las Vegas has it all, it's a great starting point for a west coast adventure.

Must See Attractions  1) Belagio Fountain 2) Free Pirate show outside Treasure Island Hotel 3) Mirage Volcano 4) Big Shot ride on top of Stratosphere Tower 5) Helicopter ride over Vegas

Fab Tips 1) Take a travel kettle and adapter so you can plug it in because American sockets and voltage is different. 2) Set a spending limit each day to include gambling/food/gifts etc. Hopefully this limit will rise if you win! 3) Here's a great tip that not many people know about - located around the side of the Stardust is a free bus service that will take you to another casino called Sam's Town. From Sam's Town you can get to the California on the same free bus. The Barbary coast also has a similar free bus which runs to the Gold Coast and Orleans casino - give them a try as it makes a break from the strip.

Eating Out Whilst I enjoy the "all you can eat" buffets in Las Vegas, you simply can't beat a great steak prepared in front of you. The Steak House located in Circus Circus is one of the best restaurants I've been to. Pay a visit, you owe it to your stomach!
