Travelogue First week in Sri Lanka we did the splendours of ceylon tour. You get to stay in 4 or 5 star hotels (4 in all) which are very posh. Our guide, Joseph, was a lovely man and very informative about all the places we visited. I think the highlights for my husband and I was the elephant orphanage - it was really magical. Also the climb up Sigiriya rock. The people in Sri Lanka are very friendly and welcoming. The staff in all hotels treat you like royalty.

Fab Tips

  • If you do go to Sri Lanka take some pens and lollypops for the children. It is a poor country and a bit heartbreaking when children come asking you for school pens.
